It gets a bit different though as soon as I had my daughter copying me!! No one can resist a toddler waving enthusiastically at them, yelling "Hello!!" As soon as my daughter joined in, the mood of the challenge completely changed. I had lots of people waving back to both of us, and saying "Hello". I found myself smiling more and more and my mood becoming uplifted with the general cheerfulness I was encountering. I even found myself talking to complete strangers, so you could say I struck off my challenge of talking to someone I didn't know as well!!
The happy people in blue want to engage with the hospitals visitors. And the place would not run without them. So when I discovered the volunteers had a barbecue on today, I saw it as a great opportunity to support their work, as well as a chance to smile and wave at more strangers. (Besides, who can turn down a good, cheap meal?!) By the time we left, we had people waving and smiling to each other, and the icing on the cake was when my daughter waved and yelled "Bye-bye, thank you!". She then continued to wave and yell her goodbyes all the way back down the hospital corridors, to many strangers who were unaware of why they were suddenly receiving this enthusiastic display of gratitude. Once we were out the main door and on our way back to our car, I was ready to even hug the parking inspector. It really did show to me that you can make the world a better place from one little action!
Speaking of making the world a better place, I took the opportunity I was handed this morning to send a distance healing to a family in need. I have had Reiki 1, Reiki 2 and Seichim energy healing attunements and sometimes I don't always believe in my abilities to provide this energetic exchange, despite being qualified and experienced enough to do so. I have always had the preference for hands on healing exchanges, but I have been taught distance healing methods and have seen peer reviewed scientific articles that prove that distance energetic transfer is a real phenomenon. So I put myself out there this morning when I read of another family's distress and need of healing (multiple family members have been affected by serious illness and injury in a short space of time). It was one of the most peaceful and humbling experiences of my life. My meditation and the healing I sent filled me with a sense of oneness with everything in the world for a brief moment. I have no doubt in my mind that my healing was received with grace and gratitude by the family who I sent it to and I wish them all a speedy recovery. I reckon I would like to incorporate some distance healing with my regular meditation times, now that I have experienced that beautiful experience of brief stillness.
I am catching up with a friend tomorrow, so let's see if I can get that belly laugh in!! :)
Til next time!!
