Over Easter our little family went on a camping trip in the southern Flinders Rangers and there were plenty of bushwalks and picnics to be had. In fact, to get to and from our campsite and the registration office, we had to walk parts of the Heysen Trail! We did that multiple times over the weekend! Wanting to reconnect with nature by listing bushwalking as a challenge item, it was actually fun to take it one step further and go on a proper camping trip, where our menu was based on non - perishable food and a camping latern our only source of light after dark. Our daughter loved it and we will definitely make another trip away as soon as we can.
Talking of reconnecting, I have also made the effort to get or keep in touch with the important people in my life - namely my friends and family (as you may have noticed throughout the past 6 weeks or so). Whether it has been at my daughter's birthday party, facebook conversations, phone calls, texts, links to these posts on facebook or responding to blog comments - I have been blessed to call you all a significant part of my life. And the saying really is true - your life truly is richer for having good friends!
So thank you for sharing this journey with me over the past 6 weeks. I hope to maybe have inspired you to take up similar challenges in your own lives, or at least entertained you along the way. I am going to go now and reflect on where and how far I have come in the last 3 decades of my life and maybe I may post this reflection later down the track... we'll see!
