As you could probably gather, I have had a successful technology detox. We went away for the weekend and I switched my phone off from midnight Friday night and I did not turn it on again until late Sunday afternoon. I wanted to avoid TV too, and I did not watch any by choice. My hubby wanted to show me a landscaping show, of which I only saw 5 minutes of, and I caught a glimpse of some children's TV when my daughter managed to get hold of the remote. However, I managed to convince everyone to cut down on their TV viewing over the course of the weekend and get involved in other things!
Seemed fitting to find out Earth Hour was on last Saturday night, so we turned everything off, set ourselves up outside with chairs and blankets and binoculars and did some stargazing. It was so relaxing! I felt like my body clock was reseting itself!!
In fact, I really managed to take advantage of the time I gained from not being attached to a phone, TV or computer. I took opportunity to be active! I read a book, I went for a walk to the park with my family, and I jumped on the trampoline (well, bounced - considering my bump and all)! The past few days I have been ensuring to continue to be as active as I can, where possible. This included braving the water at the beach the other day, despite how cold it initially felt!!
